I'm forcing myself to sit down for a bit and update. Life has been
whizzing by at a lightning pace lately. I stop to look at the calendar
and it's just really hitting me that in a week and a half I will be a
married man! Not that it's a bad thing, just kind of the unknown. And I
am looking forward to experiencing this next stage of my life, especially knowing
that Z will be there with me every step of the way. I literally believe
that from now until the hour of the wedding ceremony, every fifteen minute
block of my life has been scheduled and commited to either, buying
something, meeting someone, finding something, entertaining people,
cleaning something, paying somebody, planning something or just
plain thinking about when I have to do one of the above...

No one told me it was going to be this hard... To all the people whose
weddings I've attended I'd like to say to you, "I'm sorry that I took
all your hard work for granted and drank so much alcohol at your wedding!"
Anyways, everytime I turn around, I'm handing someone a big fat check
for something that I'm not even sure they're an expert at. Except for
our photographer that is. I have the utmost confidence in
Adam Tow and his lovely assistant that they will provide us with beautiful photographs of our day.

Z's
friends came to visit us from NYC for a week. Since one of the
bridesmaid will only be able to make it out here on the day of the
wedding and then fly off again, she was nice enough to come early and
spend some time with us. I took the week off while Z worked, so I was
the acting tour guide this time. We went to Winchester Mystery House, a
must see apparently according to B's home-brewed New Yorker's guide to the Silicon Valley. Even
though I've
always lived nearby the Winchester Mystery House the last 25 years,
I've never been there until last weekend. And let me tell you that I
probably won't be returning there to visit for another 25! Maybe the
Halloween flashlight tours are a little better. It was pretty funny to
be driving around town and having a passenger shout out from time to
time: "HP!"......"Apple headquarter!"....... and this one really busted
me up: "It's eBay! I loooove eBay....can we stop??". What were they
gonna do, bring them an apple pie like in that AOL commercial?
A few more days at work and I'll be off for a couple weeks. Not that
I'm getting much work done at work these days anyways. I'm always
online surfing for things such as where to get a marriage license in
Monterey, buying furniture to support the half a dozen house guests
we'll have from the east coast shacking up with us right up until the
wedding, and ofcourse keeping up with news in the outside world.
I feel like I've been living in my own little cocoon for the past few weeks.
I have no idea what anyone else is up to, not even my bestman. I
apologize to those that I've been neglecting, it's really not on
purpose! As
'Joliet' Jake Blues says it best: "IT'S NOT MY FAULT!"
